Using Chorus

What do Agree, Mixed and Split mean?

Chorus compares several weather models and shows how closely they agree. Agree: the models tell much the same story. Mixed: some differ, on the temperature or on whether or how hard it rains, so it's worth checking again later. Split: the models tell different stories, so have a plan B. You can read more in the app under Settings › About › How confidence works, or by tapping the confidence label at the top of the forecast.

Does Split mean it will rain?

No. Confidence isn't a forecast of its own, and it isn't the chance of rain. Models can agree that rain is unlikely, or agree that it's certain. Split means they disagree.

Which weather models does Chorus use?

ECMWF, GFS (NOAA), ICON (DWD) and the UK Met Office, including its sharper 2 km model across the UK and nearby for the first two and a half days. With Chorus Plus you can also add JMA and GEM, choose which models to compare, or follow a single model. Full credits are in the app under Settings › About › Data sources.

Why is later in the week less certain?

Forecasts naturally drift apart further ahead, so Chorus allows a little more difference before calling the models Mixed or Split for later days.

Widgets

How do I add a Chorus widget?

Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit › Add Widget, search for Chorus, and choose a size. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customise, then tap the widget area. Widgets are part of Chorus Plus.

My widget shows "Unlock with Plus" but I've subscribed.

Open Chorus once so it can confirm your subscription, then give the widget a few minutes to refresh. If it still shows locked, try Settings › Chorus Plus › Restore Purchases in the app.

My widget says "Open Chorus to set your location".

The widget uses your current location. Open Chorus and allow location access, or check that Location Services is on for Chorus in iOS Settings.

Chorus Plus and subscriptions

How do I restore a purchase on a new iPhone?

In Chorus, open Settings › Chorus Plus › Restore Purchases (or tap Restore Purchases on the Plus screen) while signed in with the same Apple ID.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions › Chorus Plus › Cancel Subscription. You keep Plus until the end of the current period. If you're in your free week and cancel, you won't be charged.

Can my family use my subscription?

Yes. Chorus Plus supports Family Sharing, so members of your Family Sharing group get Plus too.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles refunds. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and choose the purchase.

Privacy

What happens to my location?

It's rounded to about 2 km on your iPhone, used only to fetch your forecast, and never stored. See the Privacy Policy.

Can I turn off analytics?

Yes: Settings › About › Share anonymous usage data. Analytics never include your location.
